Rent good times at Pokhara Beach Club, Fewa Lake- Nepal

Interestingly , I went out for an evening to other extreme end of the Fewa lake at Pokhara Beach Club. I had read about it and wanted to have a look at it. Although it was closed in view of Vijaydashmi/Dussehra but the owners invited us to spend some time with them in the evening.

The club is so well camouflaged in the greenery that one can't imagine its existence. As we stood at the gate, two furious dogs came barking and growling at us. My kids got terrified and suddenly clinged to me. Then the humble owner came down to welcome us and dogs were fine. We saw big trees of Rudraksha on the walk way. I was so happy to see divine trees. It was an unusual satisfaction.

Fascinating Jungle Jamboree,Gurgaon- Restaurant review

Jungle Jamboree, as the name suggests is a restaurant with unique themes- Mystic Jungle, Aqua cave, Hunters Lodge, sky garden and kid's zone. We visited this restaurant to resolve the curiosity of its name.
It is in Gold Souk Mall on the second floor in Gurgaon and is clearly visible from the ground floor.
Reaching this place was not a problem including the parking. We started from Delhi and reached in just 45 minutes.
We were welcomed with a warm smile. Soon the Manager greeted us.

Ambiance

As we entered the restaurant, first curiosity of jungle theme was solved.

Green Jungle

The dining area was totally green with Lions family murals on the right wall and two Girrafes neck murals on left with aquarium beneath. There was noise of birds chirping. The area was very dimly lit to give the feel of a jungle. It was an excellent ambiance with pebble like flooring and grass like seats with wooden tables. Kids were jumping to see aquarium,  Girrafes and Lions. My elder one was amazed to see the full family of lions.

This lovely town is admired by all tourists and offers lively views of Feva / Phewa lake and Annapurna range including it’s distinguishing feature , the Great “Fish Tail ” or Machhapuchhre Mountain , which lies close to city.

Pokhara has become an international tourist destination with views of whole Annapurna range of Himalyas, especially Machhpuchhre – The “Fish-Tail” Mountain. On a clear day, one can actually see reflection of these ranges in Feva lake.
The trekking offers breathtaking views of the mountain ranges from a close quarters.
Although, I am not well aware of all the details of trekking , but I managed to talk to some local people and tourists from abroad and gathered some imformation.

Mystery of Guna Caves, Kodaikanal- India

About Guna Caves

Guna Caves is one of the mysterious caves. These are also called 'Devil's Kitchen' because of its eerie aura and uncanny structure and mist coming from caves.
These are the chambers between Pillar Rocks. Caves have fatal history where inquisitive explorers have lost their lives. One should be very careful while exploring them. The silence there and presence of bats makes them very scary.
The deep ravines of cave are closed for public. Cave system can be seen from far. This due to tragic deaths in the past.

Restaurant review-Punjabi by nature, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi

It was for a little birthday gathering that we decided to dine at the new outlet of Punjabi by Nature in Punjabi Bagh. It had a nice opening with flower pots and small lighting. As we entered, there was a big screen on front. The restaurant was well lit. It appeared neat and clean with waiters in proper uniforms.

At the entrance, a small walkway had 3 small tables besides lights. A couple can enjoy a romantic evening there. Then a hall divided in two bays by a separator. On the right bay, buffet table was laid out and left bay had dining tables. There were two separate little private sections on the right bay.
Snacks included dahi Bhalla, gol gappe and samosa.Nothing was spicy or oily. They got dry gol gappas for kids. Both Golgappe and samosas were crispy. Kids had them easily.

Starters

All starters were piping hot. I liked mushrooms the most followed by chicken kebabs. Chicken kebabs were very soft and had appropriate salt. Adding chutney, onions and lemon to them made it lip smacking.

The last peak we saw was Makalu (8463 m), beyond which Kanchanjunga ranges start. Our plane turned back from here and now we could see all the peaks from right side.

Twin holy peaks wonder, Gauri Shankar in Himalayas- Nepal

In our visit to Nepal, one of the most important venture was Mountain flight. The mountain flight though expensive was worth the money. In few minutes, we felt as the part of Himalayas. I will write a separate post on this as it deserves. Gauri Shankar in Himalayas is what I want to highlight in this post.

Did you know?

  • Twin peaks have two summits Northern (higher) called as Shankar and Southern summit called as Gauri. Owing to steep surfaces and long corniced ridges these peaks are tough to climb.
  • Gauri Shankar peaks have deep religious significance for Hindus and Buddhist Rolwaling Sherpas
