Shot through Madumalai National Park and wildlife Sanctuary


Madumalai National Park and Wildlife sanctuary is also declared as Tiger Reserve. This was established in 1940. It was the first sanctuary established in Southern India. Madumalai National Park lies in the northwestern region of Neelgiri Hills in Tamil Nadu. This forest shares boundaries with Kerala and Karnataka. The wildlife sanctuary is divided into five parts Masinagudi, Thepakadu, Madumalai, Kargudi and Nellakota. The protected area is home to several endangered and vulnerable species like Bengal Tiger, Gaur and Indian Leopard.
There are at least 266 species of birds in the sanctuary, including critically endangered Indian White-rumped Vulture and long-billed vulture.

Mars in Focus at Nehru Planetarium, Delhi - India

This post is unique of all. It details an ongoing full dome planetarium program titled "Mars in Focus", running at the Nehru Planetarium in Delhi.
This is a Mars retrospective program looking at the evolution of our understanding of Mars from naked eye and telescopic views onwards to the various space missions which studied Mars up close and personal. The program includes discussions and visuals related to the latest excitement in Martian directions - the Mars Orbiter and MAVEN missions. Program is being continously updated with latest Mars images released by ISRO. Some interesting orbital views related to the Mars Orbiter Mission are in the program.

Travel can be personal or frequent business travel. After having successfully planned for your trip, its time to ensure your perfect health. This will not only elate your spirits but also leave you with pleasant memorable precious moments. There are pre boarding and boarding precautions to be taken while flying which I have written in my other article. Here are quick tips for you to stay fit during your trip and have a healthy travel.
  1. Consult doctor for vaccinations at least 6 weeks ahead if travelling internationally. Some vaccinations need time to react in body
  2. Medical insurance is required as per the country of travel
  3. Have medical and dental check ups to prepare for medicines to be taken along
  4. Drink only bottled water of a branded company
  5. Consume only piping hot soups and food. Well cooked hot food doesn't have bacteria. Consuming cold food items can cause infections

Haridwar- a popular Hindu Religious place, presents an overview of Hindu Culture and civilization. It is one of the four sacred places (other three – Ujjain, Nashik and Dev Prayag)  where after Samudra Manthan drops of nectar or Amrit(the elixir of immortality) fell from the pitcher , while Garuda was taking it for Devtas as per Hindu Mythology.
The place is known for attaining Moksha.  This is why Kumbh Mela is celebrated once in 12 years in Haridwar.

Top 13 tips to avoid side effects of Air Travel

After long efforts of planning, discussions and booking, you are now about to board the plane. If the starting of a trip goes well, it adds to the full circle of happiness. There can be many side effects of air travel. Here are few tips for you to avoid those side effects and start off with a healthy journey.

Before boarding the plane

1. Get all the vaccinations done as per the requirement of the country you are visiting. Consult your doctor.
2. Ensure to have travel and medical insurance as per the country of travel
3. Since the air in the aeroplane is dry, keep yourself adequately hydrated by drinking plenty of water. One must have 8 - 10 glasses of water in a day
4. Empty your bladder and intestines. This will avoid your need to go to the washroom at least once in a long flight and totally avoid in short flight
5. To avoid Jet lag, follow these simple tips eat moderate, avoid alcoholic and caffeinated beverages as they dehydrate you, get used to the new time zones by going along with local meals and bed time schedules, last but not the least get plenty of sleep before boarding

After boarding the plane

1. If you are travelling with kids, feed them while landing and take off. This will avoid the built up of air pressure in ears.
2. Since you are travelling above 8000 ft, even normal breathing is a load on the body. Prolonged stasis of blood in the calf area can cause deep vain thrombosis (clotting) also known as Economy class syndrome.This clotting can result in swelling of limbs. So, one should contract calf muscles by walking or do feet exercises at regular intervals. Do not sit crossed legs.

Most preferred destination in Port Blair- India, Chidiya Tapu

Chidiya Tapu is the southernmost tip of South Andaman. The lush green forest cover with Munda Pahar beach makes it a perfect destination in Port Blair.





Chidiya Tapu is famous for its Munda Pahar Beach, Biological Park, Sylvan Sand beach, Chidiya Tapu beach, sunset point, variety of exotic birds like drongos, emerald dove, white bellied, sea eagles, grey fronted and imperial green pigeons. (Source - maps of India.com)
Main occupation of residents of this place is craftsmen ship of sea shells. There are many creative items that are made from sea shells like stands, ash trays, displays etc.

Hotel review -SRS Lakshya- Haridwar, India

On the second day of our trip in Haridwar, we checked in this nice and decent property- SRS Lakshya. This property was on the highway of Delhi Haridwar just 15 minutes away from Had Ki Pauri. Singh Ghat is very near to this property.

It had a proper drive way and a decent entrance. There were plants at the beginning of the drive way which was slopy. We parked our car and the person came to pick our luggage. Reaching this property was a great breather.
We entered the hotel. It was a glassy entrance. Staff at the reception was courteous.

Beds were tidy and sheets properly laid down. There was everything basic we needed. Toiletries in the washrooms, working phone, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, WiFi connection and good air conditioner.. Read more

Spiritual Diamond in India- Rishikesh

Rishikesh is the spiritual diamond in India , located at foothills of Himalayas. It is also known as The Gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas and is starting point for religious Char-Dham Yatra.
If a person is looking out for spiritual and meditational or yoga bliss , then Rishikesh is the destination. Almost all travellers from India and abroad , touch Rishikesh in order to attain the spiritual knowledge and enlightenment.
Rishikesh is situated almost 26 kms from Haridwar ,a popular Hindu Religious place as well. It is here that Ganga leaves Shivalik mountains in Himalyas and flows out into the plains of northern India. The place is a heaven for people from all across the world. The foreign tourists plan to stay in ashrams for a period of one to six months and learn rich Hindu Culture from various Gurus.

Several temples are present in the Vicinity of Laxman jhoola. The place is also rich in Gurukuls , where ancient Vedas are taught in Sanskrit Language.
Rishikesh is a popular spot for Adventure sports as well , such as white water rafting , hiking and backpacking. The most popular tourist attraction is Laxman Jhoola – A swing on river Ganga connecting two hills . It’s a bridge that connects two hills and people can move across (even on bikes). The swing sways due to high winds , thus enjoyed by all tourists. Historically , it is said that Lord Rama did penance here and Laxman crossed the river Ganges at this point itself using a rope made of jute.

Located in Moments mall of Kirti nagar on the second floor in the food court, this outlet is just opposite the lift. A big sparkling glass door welcomed us. It was a bay of four outlets sharing common seating arrangement. There were tables at the wall as well as in the middle of the bay. The place was neat and clean with people enjoying food.
We went to this outlet which boasted of Authentic Lebanese Kebabs. As we sat in food court , people around were ordering Lebanese dishes.
Kitchen was clean and we could see proper hygienic methods of preparing food.

We had gone to dine at Royal Turban in the evening with family on a birthday celebration. The evening turned out amazing with good food and service by restaurant staff.
Kids always find a place to play anywhere and everywhere but restaurant staff paid attention to them as well.
Being on the main road, restaurant is easily accessible.

Royal Turban had a nice ambience with different coloured lights and designer walls. It had a nice seating arrangement. A few seats were already booked for another party as well. The restaurant also makes special arrangements for ladies kitty party as well.
The restaurant was dimly lit and cozy.

  Visit to Twin hill Lonavala – Khandala is incomplete without a visit to Celebrity wax meuseum.
Celebrity wax Museum is near Toll Plaza on Mumbai Pune highway. It is modeled on famous wax museum Madame Tussauds in London. This museum in India is a must visit for all the tourist. I never imagined it to be actually so inspiring and an interesting place to visit.
It presents a life-like replicas of famous personalities from India and abroad.
Replicas of famous personalities such as Anna Hazare,Bhagat Singh,Indira Gandhi,Mahatama Gandhi,Rajiv Gandhi , Rabindranath tagore, Shivaji and Swami Vivekanand and many more personalities were absolutely amazing.
Statue of Bhagat Singh was such that he is talking with an expression.
Statues were of exact height, weight and colour complexion of the personality.

Twin hill’s stunning views- Lonavala Khandala, Mumbai




Lonavala and Khandala are almost 5 kms apart , on the western slopes of Sahyadri on Mumbai-Pune highway. Lonavala is about 64 kms from pune and 96 kms from Mumbai.
Both Mumbai pune expressway and Mumbai Chennai highway pass through it.It’s a 3-4 hours drive from Mumbai.
The places are famous for pituristique and breathtaking views and innumerable varities of chikki (sugary hard candy full of groundnut)
