Fascinating corals- nature's miracle under water!

As I started my expedition for Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, its scenery had already kept me hypnotized. But, at the view of corals, I was almost stunned.

Corals are marine animals that do not have a vertebral column. They live in compact colonies of many identical individuals.Corals secrete calcium carbonate to form a hard skeleton.

All the time I wondered how God creates as well as tracks the life he creates outside water and under water!!! Although I had seen corals in Mauritius as well, but they were not shown with such an interest as in Port Blair. The glass bottom boat experience was much better in Port Blair than in Mauritius. As the boat staff saw corals, they would slow down the boat and dive in the water to show us for few seconds. Then put it into the water again. Favourite of road travellers on Delhi Haridwar highway- Cheetal Grand

Cheetal Grand, the midway joint on the Haridwar Rishikesh highway is the major stopover of road explorers. I have been on this highway a lot of times and have always stopped at this place.

This time whiled looking for Cheetal Grand, we learnt that it has shifted. What will we do, the next thought came. Oops! Its right there. Wow! The old Cheetal Grand was no more accessible as per the traffic police there. They told that this restaurant is a new alternative. Old Cheetal Grand used to be a big resort. This was only a restaurant.

Exotic Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park

Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park is in Wandoor, some 29 kms away from Port Blair in the vast Bay of Bengal. This park houses 15 islands and is a home to coral reefs and marine life. There are two main islands, that visitors visit Jolly Buoy island and Red Skin island.

Our Experience

We got ready in the morning to start for our expedition at Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. It was 7'o clock in the morning. Weather was pleasant. Our private vehicle was waiting for us. All of us (3 couples)were geared up for the trip and were super excited. In some time, we reached Mahatma Gandhi Marine National park from Port Blair. The driver parked our vehicle at Wandoor. We had taken the permit a day before. Then we purchased the tickets of boat and went ahead with our excursion.

Delicious food on Haridwar Rishikesh highway at Dana Pani

As we were driving to Rishikesh from Haridwar, we saw a restaurant named Dana Pani on the highway. Its appearance somehow lured us inside. What we saw inside was a peace of mind. Something on the theme of 'you will get anything vegetarian you wish to eat'. Oh, mouth watering food.

Dana Pani offered a variety of food like Chole Poori, Lassi or buttermilk sweet or salty, dhokla, paneer pakora and other vegetables pakora, bread pakora, tikki, dosa etc.

We ordered poori chole, vegetable pakoras and lassi. All very tasty, not at all oily or sdpicy. Perfect blend of spices in food. Everything made of pure ghee. We had a sumptuous meal. Kids too did not find it spicy.

Bhaj Govindam resort at Ganga in Haridwar has got nice and picturistique exteriors as you can .

We had stayed there in monsoon when Ganga Ji is at its high and its water is muddy.

River flowing by the resort provides a beautiful view. We laid the chairs and spent time there to see Ganga Ji flow.

Since it was a nice view from our room as well, all the time I just wanted to gaze at the river and sit. We would sit in the balcony all the time.

Bhaj Govindam has two well maintained parks but totally ignored walk ways and rooms. On seeing the photographs of gardens and Ganga Ji flowing by, I could never imagine that rooms would be filthy. Read more

Chinese Snacks were very spicy. After providing the feedback, they made our main course less spicy. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian North Indian food was tasty. Preparation was mouthwatering specially Malawi kofta was delicious. Dal Makhani and Murgh Tikka Masala were tasty as well.

Service

Staff attended to all our needs immediately. Person taking the order had good idea of menu and preparation.Since we were with little kids who were running around, restaurant staff ensured their safety. We experienced nice hospitality there and enjoyed our evening.

Ambience

Dim lights and nice seating arrangement was immediately soothing. It was a cordial atmosphere. It was good to see even kids enjoying.

Rajmala hills, Munnar- India

Our Experience at Rajmala hills

After spending some time in Thekkady, we really wanted to see Neelgiri Tahr in Munnar. As we reached the Rajmala hills, we realized that our decision to visit this place was perfect.

Rajmala hills at Eravikulam National Park is a house for Neelgiri Tahr an endangered specie of goat. It is said to have nearly half of world's Neelgiri Tahr's population.

Neelgiri Tahr is the main reason to visit Rajmala hill. At Rajmala hill, the scenic beauty is such that we got mesmerized.

It was a very nice weather with beautiful scenery. My little Princess was enjoying a lot. Initially, she was a bit scared but as she got used to surroundings, she was more comfortable.

My little one was excited to see these animals. Soon after a while, she got hungry. Thank God,we had carried food and water with us.
