Things to do at Colosseum, Rome in just half an hour

Have you seen the Bollywood movie - Jeans's song- Ajooba having scenes of Colosseum. Most of the sites in song are amongst wonders of the world. I used to always admire those locations. Never thought that one day I will be visiting one of them in Europe! Indeed, a feeling of visiting a site where a Bollywood movie was shot is unparalleled.

We were given only half an hour to see Colosseum and take pictures. Its a great site! This is the largest amphitheater in the world. It’s one of the seven wonders of the world!  The structure of Colosseum was completed in AD 80. Which means about 2000 years ago! That time, it could seat 50,000 people. It took almost 9 years to complete this incredible building. This place was normally used for public spectacles, gladiatorial contests. This open area used to get covered with a humongous fiber during rains.

What if you loose your group with which you are travelling Internationally!

What if you loose your group internationally? Well, a strange thing happened with me in Brussels. We had snacks at a restaurant and later went to enjoy ice cream at Grand Place Square.

I had to go back to the restaurant to freshen up while my family was enjoying ice cream. As I was confident of the way, I left for the restaurant alone. Gosh! While coming back, I lost my way. I immediately calmed myself first and ensured that I remained composed and walked as if nothing has happened.

School trip to Chandigarh- Article by Master Daksh Malhotra

Our school had planned a trip to Chandigarh. I and my friends decided to go to the trip. We started planning for the trip and were super excited about it.

On the day of departure, we went to the railway station in Delhi early morning. We clicked photos of the view which was seen from the window of the train. There was greenery all around.

Breakfast was served in the train and we ate omelette with bread and sauce. After breakfast, we played game bold. Me and my friends were enjoying the train journey. In about 3-4 hours,  we arrived at Chandigarh Railway Station and made a queue. After that we boarded a bus. It was very hot in the bus. After that we went to the hotel Clarion Inn Sevilla.

We had chowmein in the lunch and after that we went to the Chhatbir zoo.

See the beauty of London through London Eye by the river Thames

My little son is very apprehensive of heights. May be he is small and hence tries to run away from heights. By God’s grace, I and my elder son don’t mind heights. My husband surely gives company to my little son. So, whenever, we are on trips or excursions, I love the grouping of my family. Although I feel that we should be a single group, but sometimes you have to let it be. London Eye was one such experience that we had to take and owing to its height, my little son was skeptical about it.

Review- Hotel Meditur, Pisa- Italy

Hotel Meditur in Pisa is a 4* property with two lawns in front and an open air seating restaurant. The property is short distance away from historic sites of Tuscany like Pisa, Lucca and Florence. There are many popular beaches of Versilia a few kms away.

We stayed there for one night and two days. Our room overlooked the lawn. It was a spacious property. It was good continental breakfast. There were many options. I loved the strawberry curd specially. Roasted bread with butter along with milk used to be my favorite then.

Our room was comfortable and cozy. It had all the amenities be it coffee maker, phone, LED TV, wifi or dryer, refrigerator.

Eiffel Tower, magnificent Tower of the world!

Months before beginning the planning of my Europe Trip, at the sub conscious level, there was always a special focus on Eiffel Tower. I used to intentionally get rid of that thought out of my mind. Somehow or the other, Eiffel Tower used to grab my attention enough to once mention it to my mother- 'It seems that Eiffel Tower is calling me.' You know what! My husband soon suggested a trip to Paris. He was serious about it. I was exhilarated at this suggestion!!! Wow, Eiffel Tower was indeed calling me I thought. And this special day came when we were to witness Eiffel Tower in person.

This day, we all were super excited to see it first hand. There was a long queue and we had to wait for some 15 minutes to get our turn for the lift.

Change of Guards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace, London

Change of Guards Ceremony at Buckingham Palace is a major attraction for tourists over the world. In this ceremony, the gurad transfers the responsibility of protection of Buckingham Palace and St. James Palace to the new guard.

We were supposed to reach the Palace at 10.30. Normally, The Change of Guards Ceremony was starts at 11am. As we reached, we could see thousands of tourists all around the Palace.

Beautiful view of river Seine along with marvelous architecture of buildings by the river

River Seine, also know as La Seine in French, is a 777 km long commercial Waterway.

We knew from our itinerary about river Seine. After Eiffel Tower, we were to do river Seine Cruise. After like 15- 20 minutes walk, we reached the port where we were to board the boat for River Seine. It was a big boat and had two levels. We took our seat at the top level to enjoy better view while enjoying the weather.

There was a beautiful bridge that came and it had nice golden statues. It was a lovely sight.

Grand Finale of our trip at Mercure Roma West , Rome

After all the roaming around in Europe across 7-8 countries and commute in bus all through, one gets tired. Isn't it? But you know, we loved that tiredness. Sleep used to hug us immediately whenever we hit beds. Kids and we used to love running around through the day and we used to retire to beds remembering fond moments spent during the day. Each day had a different gift for us. After all of this, when we stayed at the last hotel of our trip, we were elated. Mercure Roma West was a brilliant property.

Couldn't get enough of enthralling Rhine Falls in Switzerland

Since the time we were in Switzerland, we kept doing one or the other gripping sightseeing destinations. Even views of the countryside and important towns were such that we were totally hooked to the window of our bus all the time. We visited Rhine Falls in Zurich, Switzerland.

Rhine Falls is the largest water falls of Switzerland and Europe. It lies in between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich.

We all were exhilarated when we reached the place. It was such a beauty from far. Upon reaching the exact, place, we learnt that we can do boating and reach almost the bottom of falls. Oh, you can't imagine, we were yearning to ride the boat!

Hotel Novotel Suites Paris Velizy, a wonderful stay with family

In Paris, I had not expected a big hotel room, Paris being expensive and short on space. When we reached the Hotel Novotel Suites Paris Velizy, we were surprised! It was a big room. Property was really nice.

At the entrance was the lobby with dining area. There was space for buffet. Kitchen was by the reception area. There was a play area for kids where they kept playing table hockey for hours. It was so much fun for them. Still when I talk about it, they go ga ga about the property. To the left of reception were rooms and elevators. The are aof the lobby was quirky and had vibrant colours which kept the ambiance energetic.

Our room was a nice one. At the entrance was a little toilette to the right. Then was an open area heading to a study table. Next to study table was a single sofa to sit by the window and enjoy. This area was partitioned by a curtain.

Hague Beach in Holland, a happening place to be at

After our impressive Stenaline Cruise, we headed to Netherlands. Beautiful Madurodam excited all of us and we were loving our trip. Then we were dropped at the Hague beach which treats your eyes with 11 kilometres of coastline!

There was a residential area, then shopping complex . There was another area which was full of entertaining amenities along with restaurants, kids shops. Soon, we could see the beach and the sea touching the sky! Wow! It was a lovely view.

Kidzania, Noida a destination where kids learn while enjoying

I had gone to Kidzania , Noida with my family. Had heard a lot about Kidzania.

I had been planning to visit the place since last one year but wasn't able to execute the plan. Kids were really excited to go there. All of us adults were curious to know about the place, activities, ambiance . We started from our house early so that kids are able to spend full time there.

Once we reached there, there was an aeroplane that welcomed us. We got an entry through Kidzania International Airport. Kids got their boarding passes and Yes Bank Kidzania cheques.

Kids had to encash them for Kidzoes, the currency at Kidzania. It was a nice concept.

As we all entered the place, there was so much to do. Kids got overwhelmed with excitement.

They started running around picking and choosing what activities they wanted to do. We all started with Shaimak Dance Academy where we all participated. It was so nice an experience. The trainer first trained us for the dance for some 20 minutes. Then, we all had to do stage performance. It was a nice set up and a lovely experience. We all wore fancy caps and danced to the tune of ' Kala Chashma'.

Kids then went to Big bazaar little model and did role plays of inventory manager, cashier, shopper.  They loved it totally. I must say, it was a great experience for all of them. They all were performing role plays of adults in daily lives to earn livelihoods.

In flight simulation, they flew planes. Sometimes landed, sometimes crashed. But, they got a good idea of flight. Radio jockey was a great experience as well. They came to know how an RJ speaks and what all gears they have to wear for the same.

Secret agent was an adventurous activity which my elder son loved to do. He loved the free fall and the climbing part of it.

Dabur toothpaste puzzle helped kids sharpen their brains by solving puzzles and made them more aware of teeth problems. In Pepper fry, they delivered the stuff to various other kiosks.

Amity University provided them with quiz of medical sciences. Car license test was another life like experience. Hospital nursery was an experience to kids to bathe new borns and ready them. They made sandwiches as well.

They did many more things like Football, Doughnut making, Mannequin styling, Animation story , Music room, Sandwich making, Ice cream , Candy making, Frooti making concepts. Police Station too was there.

Kids also did Energy Conservation where they learnt about various ways to conserve energy. They sent a message to one of the kiosk to use LED bulbs instead of tubes as that consumes less electricity and provides better light.

Indonesia has been close to my heart always. I have been there twice and found it to be a new destination both times. The more I explore,it, the more beautiful it seems. Recently, I attended an event by Indonesia Tourism in Delhi.

There was a high focus on increasing tourists in Indonesia. Badung, a region with the maximum tourist activities in Bali. There is a lot of similarity in the culture and tradition of Bali and India. Same Gods are worshiped, similar names, Sanskrit is used alot.

From January to July 2018 there were more than 340,000 Indian visitors to Indonesia as compared to the same period in 2017.  “For 2018, the Minister has set 700,000 visits as the target for the Indian market and that’s a huge 40% target increase from 2017’s,” adds Mrs. Nia Niscaya the Deputy Minister of Tourism Marketing, Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia.
