Restaurant review-Punjabi by nature, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi

It was for a little birthday gathering that we decided to dine at the new outlet of Punjabi by Nature in Punjabi Bagh. It had a nice opening with flower pots and small lighting. As we entered, there was a big screen on front. The restaurant was well lit. It appeared neat and clean with waiters in proper uniforms.

At the entrance, a small walkway had 3 small tables besides lights. A couple can enjoy a romantic evening there. Then a hall divided in two bays by a separator. On the right bay, buffet table was laid out and left bay had dining tables. There were two separate little private sections on the right bay.
Snacks included dahi Bhalla, gol gappe and samosa.Nothing was spicy or oily. They got dry gol gappas for kids. Both Golgappe and samosas were crispy. Kids had them easily.

Starters

All starters were piping hot. I liked mushrooms the most followed by chicken kebabs. Chicken kebabs were very soft and had appropriate salt. Adding chutney, onions and lemon to them made it lip smacking.

The flight also boasts of closest view of Mount Everest from naked eye , unless you are actually climbing it.
The last peak we saw was Makalu (8463 m), beyond which Kanchanjunga ranges start. Our plane turned back from here and now we could see all the peaks from right side.

In our visit to Nepal, one of the most important venture was Mountain flight. The mountain flight though expensive was worth the money. In few minutes, we felt as the part of Himalayas. I will write a separate post on this as it deserves. Gauri Shankar in Himalayas is what I want to highlight in this post.

Did you know?

  • Twin peaks have two summits Northern (higher) called as Shankar and Southern summit called as Gauri. Owing to steep surfaces and long corniced ridges these peaks are tough to climb.
  • Gauri Shankar peaks have deep religious significance for Hindus and Buddhist Rolwaling Sherpas
